Big tax cuts for the rich and infamous dry up long before they trickle down to Canton. People in these parts have more pressing concerns—like a job or even health care.  Good ole protectionism is a seductive suitor—Karl Rove won a bunch of votes in 2004 by slapping on a few steel tariffs.  Maybe a better approach is to forgo sprawl-mart and buy American-made vacuum cleaners.  But, as Don Dixon considers, buying American is not as simple as buying Chevy. General Cabbage Report
